Welcome to our web site! We are delighted that you are interested in the Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School of Choice.
The school of choice provides a wonderful opportunity for attending school with highly motivated students, faculty, staff, and parents. The school of choice program provides an atmosphere where students may have a challenging curriculum and a positive, safe, learning environment.
Our mission statement is “To seek excellence in who we are, what we know, and what we do”. Everyone associated with Edgewood is committed to that mission. This means that we work to advance academic knowledge and skills to the maximum possible, to develop character and leadership skills, and to use the knowledge and skills we have for the advancement of mankind. The emphasis is on an accelerated college prep type curriculum but opportunities are also available for the fine arts and for student activities. Our major objective is to produce an intelligent and well-rounded student who is prepared to pursue his/her life goals upon leaving Edgewood.
Students must apply for admission, must meet qualifications, must agree to terms of a contract, and must be selected in the school lottery. If numbers selected in the lottery exceed available slots, a waiting list is established. To remain a student in good standing, students and parents are expected to meet all the terms of the contract.
Edgewood continues to be one of the top performing academic schools in the state of Florida. Each new class brings more and more acclaim to the school.
